Here is what a Kohlrabi looks like

Also in my box of veggies from the CSA was a Kohlrabi bulb. Kohlrabi, which belongs to the cabbage family, is an excellent source of vitamin C and potassium. It is also high in fiber and helps to stabilize blood sugar. It can also be effective against edema, candida and viral conditions.

Good morning SITSter.
What a terrific food blog!
I could look and read and drool all day.
I stopped here for a comment, not randomly, because my fam ate Kohlrabi from the garden all the time when I was young.
I still love it. Not many people are familiar with it, but the old school Pollacks love it still.

I saw your comment,"...all I could think of is food..."
Now me too!
